Introduction:
It is used for the treatment of chronic bronchitis inflammation (inflammation of the bronchial tubes), bronchospasm (spasm of lung muscles) in asthma, emphysema, and shortness of breath due to lung problems. It helps in breathing easier by relaxing lung muscles and widening the bronchial tubes.
Composition:
Britanyl syrup contains terbutaline sulfate. Terbutaline sulfate is a beta-2 adrenergic agonist which is a class of drugs used for the treatment of respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma.
Side effects:
The patient taking this medication may experience:
- Sleep disorder.
- Headache.
- Dizziness.
- Peripheral vasodilation.

| 3-5 years | ½ to 1 teaspoon. |
| 6-12 years | 1-1½ teaspoon. |
