Introduction:
This antiparasitic drug treats a variety of parasitic infections, including tapeworm infections, threadworm infections, and hookworm infections. It is commonly used to treat ascariasis, hydatid cysts, pinworm disease, neurocysticercosis, giardiasis, filariasis, and trichuriasis. It works by allowing the worms present in the abdomen from taking glucose (sugar) so that the worm dies after losing energy.
This syrup is especially effective at treating tapeworm infections, which are notoriously difficult to treat. Ingesting contaminated food or water can cause tapeworm infections, which can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss. The Zentel Syrup effectively kills tapeworms by preventing them from absorbing glucose, which they need to survive.
